The season of Thanks and Giving!

The season of Thanksgiving is upon us, but we should really be giving and thankful. Most people will take this time of year to celebrate by buying gifts, by spending time with family, and by throwing parties and different events. But remember, there are some people that do not have it give or be grateful.

In this season in this season, while some of us are celebrating there are some people who are in deep despair. Let us not forget those people. Let us remember that it could be one us at any given time. Remember to check on loved ones, remember to check on those that have lost loved ones, those that may have lost a job, most important check on those that are taking care of someone. Sometimes a visit may be all they need or a plate from your table.

In this season, let's also not forget to give thanks to God for things that we receive daily. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up with our daily lives, that we forget to say thank you God. We forget to acknowledge him in all things, through the good times the bad times, the ups and downs. We like to say that we are just human, flawed indeed we are, but we must remember where our strength and help come from....God

No matter what the situation are or the circumstance God has called us here for one great purpose and that is to love one another. Love is an action word. Love is something that you show, and get in to action. We are here to take care of each, sometimes I think we forget that. I know that weekly I preach self-care. In some small way taking care of someone else is a form of self-care. It brings a delight to my heart when I can do something special for someone. Even if it is just a simple is picking up the phone to call and say hello. If you know that they like to read the newspaper, take him a newspaper. If you know that they like a certain potato chip, take a bag of chips to the house and check on our people. Let us not forget the true reason for the season.

Remember, you awake daily with two constants, a chance and a choice, so why not take a chance and choose You.
